Personal Style Story:
Prosecco and Plaid

Inspired to create her blog after being encouraged by a special person in her life to go find something she loved and do it, Jess built Prosecco and Plaid. Intrigued by the namesake of her blog since they are two things we can't get enough of ourselves, we wanted to get inside the head of the girl who thinks "style isn't about the price tag, it's about how you put it together."

Once we found out that Jess's boyfriend, Craig, can make some mean tacos and beer margaritas, we were curious about his style as well. As a bonus, Jess gave us a little insight into her man's vibe, too.

5 Questions with Jess

1. How does it feel to be able to express your style to others through your blog?
My blog has definitely forced me to step outside of my comfort zone with personal style, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. You have to have fun with fashion, and you also have to feel good in what you wear, I try to find a good balance between the two. - My style is casual and chic. It’s preppy with an edgy twist. Layering and print mixing are my specialty.

2. Define your boyfriend’s style.
effortlessly cool, surfer with a city vibe - He wears what he wants, when he wants, but it always looks put together, he doesn’t overthink it. He knows what looks good on him and how to put things together and he’s out the door, I wish I could be as efficient!

3. Describe the craziest outfit you have ever worn.
Oh God, there are too many to count, I wore a uniform all through middle school and high school so being able to wear what I wanted was such a big deal growing up. I went through a velour sweatsuit phase, the juicy couture thing, it was awful. Luckily I don’t think there’s any photographic evidence.

4. Is there any one person that has helped influence your style?
My Great Aunt “Aunnie” who also inspired me to start my blog has definitely hugely influenced how I approach personal style. At 85 she would be wearing trousers and loafers with a great cashmere sweater and pearls just to go to the grocery store. I never saw her in sweatpants or sneakers, ever.

5. Who are your favorite people to follow on Instagram?
My friend and jewelry designer @lorenhope has a gorgeous feed. She has such an eye for color. @youdidnoteatthat is usually pretty reliable for a good laugh. And @carolinedemaigret because she is so friggin’ cool.
